Vicki, heard Chindamo/Lyall on Jazztrack the other night, Lyall I like but I agree I heard a new depth and intensity in Joe's playing - beautiful.

Hi Happy! Man, that's my kinda list. May just ramp up the Ellington tonight. And I haven't played the Basie Deccas for about a year or so.

Nah, the Dead stuff is all new, or at the least more complete versions of already released albums. I think there are three different sets, for example, available that come from the dates that produced the Europe '72 double album. And once a concert series is officially released by the Dead, it is taken off the Internet Music Archive. They're doing it pretty cheaply, too. My 5cd soundtrack set cost $US35.

I had a good listen to Lyall/Chindamo. Really good CD. I have always been a fan of Graeme's playing - his harmonic knowledge and ability to create interesting melodic lines make him a pleasure to listen to. One of the great 'voiceleaders' in this country. Rhythmically, he is very creative as well especially when he uses the combination of harmonic and rhythmic tension. Joe's playing is always good - but on this CD he is now more creative with his ideas.
