in the last week or so: * dirty three - don't know the name of the album but it's killer! * ethiopiques series - anyone else know this stuff? fantastic complilations of music from ethiopia * coleman hawkins - cheap compilation, awesome! * archie shepp - magic of juju * eric dolphy - iron man, 'come sunday' duo with richard davis * ornette - body meta * saw a gig the other night by 'screaming headless torsos' with freak guitarist David 'Fuze' Fiuczynski * saw another gig by punk free jazz band from rome ZU * had dinner in a restaurant and they were playing one of the albums of the dewey redman, charlie haden, paul motian, keith jarret band...

Studio: Visions, (my boy wont let me take that out yet ), Eric Dolphy 'Out To Lunch', Julien & Bill 'Know what I Mean', Miles Davis' 'Porgy and Bess' (drool) and Migel Migs (lol) Car: James Sherlock's 'Watermark' is still in there, but Im alternating that with Steve Gadd's Drum Loops for some unknown reason....

got a mixed cd of all string stuff, Gorecki, Ligetti, and Barber. Its blowing my head of, some really dark sad music.

Some opera singer note-bashing through Schubert - colliding with Chopin - with the inevitable saxophone doing scales and arpeggios - I'd love to say that it all somehow combines together into some magic meeting of profound beauty......but it doesnt ..so I won't.
