ladylex, got any other stereotypes we should be aware of?
re thread title:
how many of the people here who make claims as to the true nature of 'rap' music (still hip hop to me), take time to seek out material they like in that genre?
to judge any genre by that which dominates the singles charts seems preternaturally harsh to me; this music is almost entirely designed to appeal to the L.C.D.
there are entire genres about which i know sod all; i wouldn't attempt to hold forth on them after hearing some toons on the radio.

I think I'd rather Colin than Condi. I bet Colin would dance like Phillip from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

So what? None of the musos on here are in Popular Music because this is a Jazz forum.
But I am black. I am popular amongst my friends. And I am also a musician. So: three strikes YOU ARE OUT
lol
Get over it. If I can handle the crap that Australians have dished out to me in my life, Im sure you people can handle a black person pointing out some of the better aspects of a black person’s character lol So much for stereotyping lol
