That's just not called for Vicki, very lurid language, I'm a little upset now.

"Go forth and multiply" God In the context of this forum, I take it that Guts, AJ, captain et al are the ones issuing that directive ... though it does sound a bit like that smug git Peter Costello.

I reckon you should just cut and paste from here Miriam... it would make a great article. We're bloody hilarious. We totally crack ourselves up...

Miriam, there is a great book by drummer Art Taylor 'Notes and Tones' where he interview's the musicians he's working for Sonny Rollins, Miles, Hawk, Dexter etc- during band breaks, hotel rooms on tour.

Yeah, there's some good stuff in "Notes and Tones".
Sometimes though, musicians-interviewing-musicians can fail, even on a technical level. I've got a DVD on brushes playing where Adam Nussbaum and Steve Smith interview "brush masters". It's a poor reflection on the intellectual properties of drummers. No Mensa members there...

Lets face it, any interview can fail. I'd rather have someone with knowledge about the music, either historical or technical, interview me than someone who has little idea, or worse, someone with a little knowledge and a lot of "likes/opinions".
The Evan I blog, DTM, has some very good interviews. EI has loads of knowledge but conducts the interviews with curiosity without prejudice, some very interesting reading. He definitely asks questions that only a musician or very well informed/studied lover of music would ask.
The difficulty would come with politics, I know some great questions to ask many musicians but I also know that I wont get a straight answer because it does no one any good, but they would be the fun questions. Not everyone would be as honest, rightly or wrongly, as Sir Germ Hole!
Still, there must be interest in musical attitudes too, not just political goss. That's where the Muso on Muso thing would work, talking musical concepts and directions. Laymen don't know this shit and how to explore it. This may make the interview interesting only to other musicians and less to the casual reader, but hey, who cares?
