Peter Knight - All The Gravitation Of Silence. Soudning tastier as time goes by ...
Joe Lovano - Streams Of Expression
Julien Wilson - While You Were Sleeping
Keller/Murphy/Browne - Carried By The Sun. Frabjous piano trio stuff - sounds fantastic!

Geoffrey Keezer - Wildcrafted - Live at the Dakota
Amazing record. And one of the best ones I've heard Matt Clohesy play on. A treat.

Matt McMahon: Paths and streams Julien Wilson: While you were sleeping The Necks: Chemist James Muller: Kaboom
And Mahler - so much Mahler. After hearing the VCA orchestra kick arse on the fifth symphony on Friday night (a sensational performance), I've had to revisit symphonies 6, 7, 9, 1 and 2.

I can quite honestly tell you that I have never heard it played better than I did on Friday night.

James Brown Star Time box - only 1% crap 80s stuff. 99% classics.
Revisiting the Max Roach/Clifford Brown Quintet. Cherokee at 380 - no worries!

Bought Want One a couple of weeks ago. I like it, but not completely won over yet. I don't think the song writing is quite as strong as Poses. I kinda feel a bit like I've already heard all his tricks.

Every now and again I get to a point where I think "I really should listen to every album I own before buying more CDs." Usually I get less than a quarter of the way through before cracking the shits with dodgy purchases and going back to listening to whatever I feel like. This time though, I've decided to start at the other end of the collection (I'm an alphabetical man - no genre sorting for me, to contentious). Had a great couple of days early on with the likes of Lester Young and a lot of Stevie Wonder. Today was the real test as I hit the first piece of crap - Dave Weckl "Masterplan" (I was young once). Made it through (barely), and I don't think I need to preach to the converted about what a load of shit it is. Even Steve Gadd's presence on a track can't save it. I remember now why I only ever listened to it twice before (I give everything a second chance). Thankfully we're now through that horror faze, and right now I'm having the pleasure of listening to Ben Webster. Next up - Weather Report.

Clear some shelf space and get rid of it. Come on now, be strong.
