Please reveal your secret identity to me so I can fantasize about passionate wine soaked discussions about the terrible state of the contemporary arts scene...

I am currently listening to my head repeatedly hitting the computer table out of frustration - how many years do we have to listen to the stuff on the other thread re musicians being the bottom of the food chain in the music industry? How about a fair go!!

How's the head trumpetguy?
Currently listening to Ustad Imrat Kahn. Never really knew what part of his name to file it under, so I picked "U" as it meant reorganising less of my collection.

currently listening to intermittent bass amp humming tinnitus it is driving me crazy. do any other musicians have this problem? man it is BAD! Whte noise in one ear bass amp humming in the other side. And the hum's pitch is precisely A below middle C - does that mean something? That I'll never have problems tuning up is no compensation.

Finished "U", nearly finished "T" as well. T brought the first Australian jazz album (Tree), and has just finished as I type with a CD of field recordings from Tanzania.

The Java Quartet - Deep Blue Sea. I've only read one review of this - my own. AJ, dija do it for the Bully? I can't understand the non-repsonse. this, I believe, will come to be lauded as an out and out classic. What a beutiful rekkid.

Didn't review it for The Bulletin (who gave me the Khyber a month ago, by the way, as they planned to do their cd reviews in house........I think that was code for not bothering with jazz reviews any more). But i did review it for Rhythms earlier in the year (you mean you're not an avid reader !!). I agree, it's a lovely album, not often you hear a band explore and sustain a specific mood so well.

Well into "S" now. Had a fair old whack of Sinatra and Paul Simon, but now onto Wayne Shorter.
