Shit, that certainly wasn't my intention. In fact, I'm enjoying this one so much this week that it's a for-sure thing I'll pull that one out and enjoy it all over again, too. It seems like a prime case study in how a seemingly slight personnel change - you in, Mark out - can create something completely different. And please don't take offence at the word "slight" (you touchy, sensitive artistic type, you. )

Im with you all the way Kenny, and no offense taken at all. Its actually nice to be referred to as "slight". Adding or subtracting a chordal instrument makes so much difference not only to the sound, but it changes the way the rest of the guys play too. Those albums as you point out are good example of that as they where done at a similar time too.

Geez what are ya meant to do - a 12-hour Saturday shift with nothing to look forward to except subbing horse racing yarns. Blech! At least I have these lovelies to keep me company:
Chaplin/that Tinkler personage/Rex/Lambie - The Future In Today Teddy Edwards - Smooth Sailing Sonny Rollins - Newk's Time Jackie McLean - Destination Out Blue Mitchell - The Thing To Do Horace Silver - The Cape Verdean Blues

Duke Ellington - Blues In orbit Duke Ellington - Piano In The Background Duke Ellington - Piano On The Foreskin Mike Nock/Marty Ehrlich - The Waiting Game Roberto Gatto - Rugantino Tim Stevens Trio - Nine Open Questions. Joins Mark Isaacs and Daniel Gassin in making this a fine year for me for Australian piano trios. Intense, swirling, mysterious - I'm still getting to grips with this, but it's beguiling. Total lack of standards! Tim: I played it all the way through, tracks 1-9, last night. Blue Mitchell - The Thing To Do Roger Miller - King Of The Road. Bear Family compilation that is all except the most rabid Miller fans should need. Burma Shave, Hitchhiker, Chug-A-Lug, Lock Stock And Teardrops, England Swings babeeeeee! What a man! What a genius! What a freaking hipster! (Did you know Miller was the person who found the deceased Patsy Cline after her fatal plane trip?) Found this pic at a site that has a great lineup of signs: www.roadnoise.com/gallery/

my ears peel back like a flower to the sun at the sound of... P. Grabowsky: Viva Viva (which therefore means that Stravinsky grabs me too) Shelly Scowne: Angel Alison Wedding : a special live recording with Mags, Dave & Ben Robinson Andrea Keller: 13 Sketches / ice dreaming Paul Williamson: everything, Non-consensual, Talk it up, Mutations... Trio Toykeat: another live recording I have. His banter is excellent. Twelve Tone Diamons: Thai rocks. Ricky Lee has a habit of haunting me... Naked Songs. Joni Mitchell: Both Sides Now, though I'm a bit over it, if it's been a while between listenings, she can pluck the gut strings. Elixir Berlioz: Symphonie Fantastic Bennetts Lane BIG Band: got my hands on the yet (maybe never) to be released album. (Includes Tim O'Dwyer & Danny Fischer)... Oh, and Clare Bowditch is great to drive to: Autumn Bone. But thats enough I guess, though whispers of the Klohn Concert (Keith Jarrett) at the right moment can bring on wonderful sex. I just realised there's stuff here I haven't even opened to listen to yet... It's like christmas presents from the forgotten! Yippee,... will report later. tk

Tim, have a better idea... I left some geld (cash) with Michael for things... Maybe he can give you a fist full of cash for the album from me. I`d much rather a copy from you, (maybe you`d do me the honour of signing it for me... just to keep the tradition of your other albums), not that I have anything against Rufus. My address is: Lagergasse 82, 3rd stock, Türe 8, Graz Austria 8020. I`ll send Michael an email letting him know. Let me know though if this isn`t ok for you. I don't want to make you go out of your way for me. But I do look forward to your grace in my ears. And schöne grüss für your family. megg
