" even though I am much younger that steve). Surely any artist should be prepared to cop some flack at any point along the way," said the Jazz Policeman Talk about a Freudian slip? so now you are pissed with Magnusson too, Holy Shit!. I thought he was referring to that other prodigious technical virtuoso - and national treasure - Steve Sedergreen.

That is actually very Interesting Vicki "third world music" It had never coccured to me.When the Phenomena Nirvana ascended way out of control of the record companies they invented the name "Indie" which was actually an Insidious way of categorising to take control and prevent this from happening again ,particularly the money going to the wrong people and the sales eclipsing contrived acts. A similar thing happened with Bob Marley and reggae and I spose this would have been the first pigeon holing of World Music Now, I know you're not trying to say that by calling the music 'indie' it prevented it from being taken over by large record companies, because this simply isn't true. There are plenty of "contrived" indie acts that are completely owned and controlled by record companies, as there are many acts that are less contrived, but still are in a situation where most of the money goes to record companies. so what are you trying to say... maybe i misunderstood the so called "indie" scene is every bit the product that the pop scene is. killing heidi, missy higgins, white stripes, jet etc. etc.

NOthing to be sorry about Vicki. the people have the right to know whats going on in jules' love life re: bennetts lane bag lady. If julien wilson was keen on jazz-bag-lady, and attempted to force himself on her, then we,juliens co-workers and freinds have a right to know that he's a granny-o-phile, and that we should keep him away from ours.
