And of course she is truly herself when journos are around. *rolls eyes? Not at all, but there is such a thing as being professional. Look, you've been given the facts as aj sees them. Not only did she cancel, posing a dire fiancial threat to the festival, but her camp - and I'm totally not into exonerating she herself in any of this as some sort of drone/puppet - then made aj and the festival work damn long and hard for their rightful compensation. If you can't or won't see the sense in this, it can only lead to one conclusion:

aww how cute *wink oh I see the sense. But there are always reasons for one's behaviour. I usually blame it on management. Curiously: Did you bring up the cancellation at the 2nd interview? wouldnt that have made her snippy if that was the case? EDIT: and if anything, that makes me respect her more (no disrespect to your fine efforts to grab her BTW). She aint no media whore.

She aint no media whore? isn't that a contradiction if the reason she blew the fest out was grammy advertising? The biggest of media slut fests. Lets face it, her music sucks and she a 'fucking bitch' as aj so wonderfully said. I still can't believe Elvis C married the cow, mooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. BTW Not attractive either, rich though.

You think I shoudn't raise such issues because it might make her snippy? Respect her more? Shit, you're easily impressed. I gave her the chance to tell her side of the story, and she refused. Media whore? Absolutely - one of the best.

So youre saying you wouldnt blow out some Australian jazz festival just to do promo for the grammys and thus increase the likely chance for actual album sales? This is reality. Im sure management whispers in her ear every 40 seconds telling her exactly what she should be doing to earn the bucks - which you yourself referred to in what seems to be the most glowing of terms.

She was prolly just as unimpressed by your questions as your ugly personality.

Geez, you think it's a writer's job to be taken to by artists? Fark that. As for ugly personality, you're doing plenty good yerself. She cancelled, screwed the festival when it came to compo - and I shouldn't ask her about it? No, YOU be real.

I see his point. Im wondering what you would do in the same situation though? Just curiously.
Because (and gawd knows I have limited talent so unlikely to find myself there at all): who wouldnt pass up that chance?
What it boils down to for me: is the complete lack of respect the bigger countries and their labels have for Australia. And considering how many units get pushed here and how $$ fanatical they are, Im really not surprised. It doesnt matter - we have our own awesome musos to look up to, purchase their albums and admire. Kudos to our Aussie musos.

I'm sure AJ could tell you far more stories of fine people with high ethical standards and respect for Australia and its jazz types.

You think artists of her calibre feel the need to take krap? She obviously felt affronted by your question and chose to be unprofessional - who knows, in her mind, she may think YOU were being unprofessional for bringing it up and chose to act in seemingly the same manner. Musicians and artists are still petty and human at the end of the day. Its terrible this happened. But the benefits of staying in the US compared to coming to Australia? you weigh up the options. But AJ was in the comfortable position afterwards to put her management in its place. Im sure he was able to get some small feeling of satifaction as a result.. even if that didnt make up for it financially. Better than nothing. But as you all keep demonstrating.. maybe its just as well this happened since few of you seem to have much respect for her as a musician anyway. Now you can feel justified in your opinions against her - because thats about all you do have.

I couldn't care less whether she was affronted by my questions. It's pretty pathetic if you think me or any writer should pander to her in such a way. Respect? I still think All For You is a beaut album, but it's all been downhill since then. Lack of respect? Plenty - on the basis of her akralling behaviour. Not before then.

Its simply different to yours. But I gotta say.. surely youd have some strength in character to take on the nitty gritty.. oh well. Who knows how slight an artists' ego can be. I still find myself adoring them.. but but but but theyre musicians! lol I cant help it. I saw her live once.. it was awesome. I wish I could play jazz keys like her.. *shrugs
